2011 HWTA Fall Tournament
The Tenth Annual Roselyn Donnelly Memorial Tennis tournament will be held September 15th –18th. The HWTA Fall Tournament will benefit “Jacob’s Wings Foundation, Inc”. This is a project to establish a private room within hospital NICU/L&D units for parents of babies that have passed, or will be passing within 24-48 hours. Currently there are no separate rooms for the parents and grieving family members.
A new feature of the tournament is a separate division for Super Senior Women and Men to be played on Thursday and Friday mornings with the final on Saturday morning!! This will give Super Seniors a terrific practice before the state competition in October!!
Please see the attached entry form. USTA Fall Ratings will apply. Deadline for entries is September 10th, and the deadline for correct shirt size is September 1, 2011.
Please join us to play some enjoyable tennis and raise money for this worthy cause!!
Wednesday League
It’s getting close to the beginning of the Fall Wednesday Day League!! The sign up sheet is on the table to your left as you enter the Huntsville Tennis Center. You may sign up as a regular player or as a substitute. If you prefer, sign up by e-mail. Please include your cell phone, home phone and e-mail address. (peggycampbell@charter.net) You must be a member of the Huntsville Women’s Tennis League to play in this league. You are required to get a substitute if you cannot play one Wednesday. League play will begin on Wednesday, September 7th at 9:00. More information will be provided when you have signed up to play.
There will be a round robin on each Tuesday beginning on Tuesday, September 6th at 9:00. You do not have to belong to HWTA to play in this league. Also, you do not need to get a substitute … just show up and play!
Last day to sign up will be Friday, August 28th.
HATA Tournament
Deadlines for Adult and Junior Sizzlers are this Friday and Saturday, respectively. If you mail your entry form after Wed. please send email intent to play to Kim McCandless for Adult tournament and Irene Wisner for Junior tournament.
