2008 Spring Tournament
Rain, Cool, Wind, & Sun = Fun
Maybe not as much Fun in the Sun, but at least the rain wasn’t an issue. Wow did we luck out or what on Friday night! We had 103 matches to play and we stayed on schedule. Thanks to everyone for such a great turn out and being so supportive throughout the tournament! Many thanks to Irene Wisner for the tournament draw and working around player’s schedules and multiple events. She was always there to iron out all the wrinkles to make it run smoother. Also, I would like to thank our President Karen Mitchell and my Co-Vice President Arlene Taylor. They were always there keeping the desk working, players happy,and making food runs when we needed it. What dedication and hard work from two wonderful HWTA Ladies.
Many thanks to the Huntsville Tennis Center who helped get the courts ready on Friday night after the rain and stayed late to make sure we were on schedule. Mary Ann DeMaioribus and Sue Chatham did an outstanding job on our HWTA Member books.
We had several new members and each one was provided a year book. I remember Mary Ann and Karen giving their year books away to new members to make sure they had one. What dedication! June Woo, thank you for taking so many pictures!
Thanks to the Food Coordinators and Ladies who brought food! Many thanks to Arlene Taylor’s and Bebe Brown’s Day Team for bringing food! Thanks to all those who brought something to share and for the ladies who setup and cleaned up each day. One more thanks goes to Dorothy Cannon and her husband who donated all the paper products for HWTA! Arlene did another outstanding job collecting door prizes! I don’t think I remember that many great door prizes in a Spring Tournament.
