2008 Membership Social – Thanks
The 2008 Membership Social held at the beautiful home of Kim Mims on March 4, from 4 – 6 pm was a great success! The food, prepared by the members of the current board was plentiful and delicious! Don’t let it be said that we can’t cook just because we play a lot of tennis!!!
Even though the rain had been forecast to be out of our area, it reappeared just before our party began but that didn’t deter the 98 of us as we have braved the cold and rain on those outside courts to chase a little yellow ball around! Of those who came, we had several people to renew their memberships and several more to join for the first time. For the first time, we will hopefully have individual pictures in the yearbook and we began taking those at the party. Of course, we talked and laughed and had the pleasure of Kim’s gracious hospitality in a lovely setting. Yes, we ate and drank too just like we like to do! As usual, we just enjoyed being together!
Thanks to Kim for inviting us into her stately home, the board for tasty food, Bebe Brown, Joanie Bell, Coral McRae, Doris Williams, Judy Lindsey, Julia Cowing and Bettie Murray for helping in the kitchen, Chris McCauley and Sandy Maser for taking our individual pictures, June Woo for taking candid shots, Karen Mitchell for her quality leadership and all those who came for a wonderful afternoon!
