HWTA is hosting the 10th Annual Spring Break Tennis Camp from March 16 through March 19 at Huntsville Tennis Center. On each of these days, FREE tennis instruction is offered from 9 to 11 am to all local children of school age. Last year, nearly 300 children attended, many of whom have never been introduced to the game. With such enthusiastic participation from the kids, we need volunteers to help with registration, to be lead teachers, to be support teachers, and to provide other administrative and supervisory help. Linda Baumbach is coordinating volunteers, so if you can help HWTA for a single 2-hour session or all four sessions or in any capacity, please contact Linda with details on your availability. Thank you for any time you can give to this Community Service project.

And with so many children on the courts, we will need lots of tennis balls! Please hang on to any usable balls you would like to donate. There will be a poster and container at both HAC and HTC for collecting these balls, and your donation will be greatly appreciated and much needed.

Because this is the 10th Annual Spring Break Camp for Kids, the committee wants to do a little something special for the kids. We would like to give each participant a new, tennis-themed item such as wrist band, headband, hat, zipper pull, tennis giveaways, etc. If you have some tennis stuff gathering dust in your closet, Spring Break for Kids will put your donation to good use. Please bring suitable items to the HAC or HTC front desk and ask that they be donated to “Spring Break Kids”.

And finally, if you have a school‐aged family member who would like to attend Spring Break Tennis for Kids, an information sheet about Spring Break Tennis will come through the Huntsville City School system in early March. Registration forms will be available at HTC around the same time. Pre‐registration is needed to plan for staffing.
